About Maira Martins
I love my job. Seriously, every day I wake up full of energy and ready to work. I just love it, love photographing and love making wedding films. I love my clients. Love meeting brides and grooms and feeling we have a connection, we have things in common, music, movies, places we have been. I love documenting weddings and feeling I am a little bit of their special day, feeling that I am a little piece of that story too. I love imagining how destiny put us all together and how every single decision we made has led us here.
I do weddings together with the love of my life, Jaanus, and we totally rock! We complement each other, in life and at work. When I see the big picture, he sees the details. When I see the world in black and white, he fills it with colours. When my eyes are filled with tears during a beautiful wedding ceremony and I literally can’t see anything, he has my back and keeps working :) We love nature and natural light. We love warm tones, quiet landscapes, relaxed guests and funny jokes.
And we are sure we’ll love you too. We’ll love to meet you for a good cup of tea and to hear everything about how you two met, your favourite movies and how great your wedding day is going to be. If you feel we are all meant to be, just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org :)

Our style is photo-journalistic with a touch of editorial. We don’t use camera flash and rarely use video lights and prefer to work with natural light. The look we try to achieve is warm, soft and, well, natural :) We try our best to blend in with your guests, to be discreet and to just document the day as it happens, instead of trying to orchestrate things. The only time we work with structured poses is during the family portraits and the bride & groom official portraits. But even then, we just want the images to look and feel natural, and for the whole portrait moment to flow smoothly. I will often give instructions on where to look and how to interact with each other, but that’s as far as my direction goes. Jaanus prefers to stay a bit more distant during those moments, capturing everything that happens between one pose and another, capturing the “real thing” (his images are often my favourites, as everybody looks so relaxed). Our images really complement each other and help tell stories. All the editing is done by myself, and although we are 100% digital photographers, I find film photography inspires me and the look I want to achieve with my work (I actually started shooting on film and have a small collection of analog cameras). It means you can expect our photos and films to look filmic, classic, with warm colours, like they were shot on celluloid. To see examples, please visit our Portfolio!
