I’m packing my bags. I’m taking a train tomorrow to Skåne, a place where I have never been, to teach my Fusion Workshop there. For the first time, I’m leaving Jaanus home. It is such a weird feeling – but very exciting too. I can’t wait to take my bags inside that train, remove my lens cover and start filming. I can’t wait to start teaching them about cinema, about storytelling, about video editing. I can’t wait to see their films, and to see my own film. And I can’t wait to come back home and give him that tight hug. Because I’m not even gone yet, and I’m already dying of saudade.
It’s been now 2 years since I was on a movie set for the last time and I feel anxiety in every part of me. I want to film, I want to film, I want to feel that weird and glorious sensation we feel when we finally finish editing a movie. The “mission accomplished” feeling mixed with the “I gave birth to a video master-piece” feeling. So I’ll be filming and documenting every step of this little journey. It’s just a few days, I know, but it means so much to me. It’s like… I’m growing. Tomorrow I start a little lonely adventure, equipped with my phone and 2 amazing video apps, 2 cameras, a laptop, a monopod, a mic and lots of inspiration. Let’s see what the outcome will be :) See you very soon!
