Week 6: back to work
Vacations are over, nooooo! π Just kidding. This first week back to work was actually really nice. Now that I am self-employed and work as a day trader, work days are always nice and something to look forward to. I actually like Mondays now, because I get to trade again and follow my process.
- First week post vacations and I killed it with my trading performance! I was so relaxed and calm and focused, a total miracle.
- Astro twisted his paw and fell on the ground during the walk and it was so scary! Luckily with some hours of rest, he was fully recovered and didn’t need to go to the vet (he absolutely hates the vet).
- My mom and I went for a walk in the Patraix neighbourhood in Valencia, and she had her first Almuerzo Valenciano. (Link in Brazilian Portuguese).
- I made spaghetti bolognese with TVP and it was a hit. Husband is now requesting an entire lasagna with said bolognese.
- Created a blog for my mom!! She’s obsessed, she’s been writing every day, publishing old poems and stories she had on Word, but also publishing new things, trying to figure out what blogging means to her. (In Brazilian Portuguese).
- Revamped my /blog pages and /home.
- My shoulder is hurting again. I injured my rotator cuff back on May 1st and since then have been unable to workout. Stupid moves like pointing at a squirrel or raising my arm for a hug, hurt. I’ve been three times to the doctor and she refuses to refer me to a specialist or to physiotherapy. She prescribed me paracetamol, ibuprofen and after a lot of complaints, a stronger voltarΓ©n. Still, this thing is not improving on its own, so I’m going to look for private PT.
- πΊ Watched Four Seasons. I liked it. I don’t see the need for a 2nd season, though.
- πΏ Watched The Duke. Initially boring and lacking “sauce”, but the last 1/3 of the movie, the courtroom part, was actually really good and saved the whole thing.
- Made Amalfi pasta for the first time in a year. Mom loved it so much! This recipe is super easy to make and very tasty.
- Baked sourdough bread (Brad), this time adding rye, spelt and oats to the dough. π₯π
- Made fig jam! Mom and I made two batches, one with sugar and one sugar-free (she’s diabetic). The sugar-free one is delicious! We don’t eat a lot of sweets at home so I never cared about cutting sugar, but my mom will be staying with us for three months and it’s a good opportunity to learn to cook sugar-free and be more inclusive.
- Yesterday we had the most perfect Summer Sunday evening in Valencia! The city was bright, happy, welcoming, magical.
