Week 8: in love with my Instax printer!
- Two days after my Photolab 8 trial ended, DxO Photolab 9 came out and it has local AI masks! I bought it right away. I then spent the next 4 days troubleshooting a million bugs, crashes and performance issues. Note to self: never again buy software on the day of the release. π Luckily, I found out what was causing my specific issues, and its all good now! I’m a happy DxO PL9 user and LR is done forever!
- Was in need of some delicious comfort food and a break from my Mediterranean healthy food, so I made Natasha’s creamy shrimp pasta!
- πΊ Watched the second season of Wednesday. Just as good as the first! π»ππ¦
- Improvised homemade burgers with a box of falafel mix and it turned out delicious! π
- Mom gifted me a Fuji Instax Wide printer and I am obsessed!!! Such a cool little thing! I also got an album for 80 prints to go with. πΌοΈβ€οΈ
- I then remembered I already had a Fuji Wide 300 camera! π· I might use it more now that I am into physical photos. But in all honesty, the printer is way cooler than the camera! The camera is an enormous ugly thing. The printer is cute AF and can print photos from my phone and camera! I can print little gifts for my family, I can print xmas cards, I can add a QR code to the print with a hidden audio or text message, and I can simply print my favourite memories and put them in the little album. The possibilities are endless!
- Inspired by my new printer, I also bought a 400-pocket album for 10x15cm / 4x6" prints. I’ve been talking forever that I want to print my photos, so now let’s do it. Briefly considered getting a Canon Selphy CP1500, but it is actually cheaper and higher quality to send to an online lab like Saal or MyFujifilm. Already sent 50+ prints to the lab!
- Even more inspired, decided to make calendars with photos of my dogs to gift my mom and my MIL in 2026! Saal had 60% off on those cute little ones, too good to pass. π
- Went to Valencia on Friday night to meet two Brazilian friends for a quick vermut at Mercado de la Imprenta and pasta at Italiamos. My mom M. got tortellone with shrimps and pistachio, my husband J. got penne al ragΓΉ Bolognese, me and my friends G. and J. all got lasagna napoletana! π
- Saturday I was super hangover. The solution for a lazy dinner was food that cooks itself: raclette! We sat at the garden, drinking wine and watching the full moon! π
- Never tired of eating lasagna, on Sunday I made it at home using my bolognese recipe, fresh homemade plates, bΓ©chamel sauce, and an absurd amount of cheese! Better than what you get at most restaurants, I swear.
