Cooking Times
A list of cooking times and settings I frequently use. HP is high-pressure, LP is low-pressure.
Instant Pot
- Brown beans and Chickpeas: soak beans 12h; cook 30min at HP, 5min rest, quick release
- Black beans: soak for 12h; cook 40min at HP, 5min rest, quick release
- Lentils: no soak; cook 20min at HP, 5min rest, quick release
- Brown rice: wash and drain rice; cook with a pinch of salt for 20min at HP, 5min rest, quick release
- Basmati rice: wash and drain rice; cook with a pinch of salt for 5min at HP, 10min rest, quick release -OR- use Rice function!
- Yogurt: Boil twice (cool down to 40C after each boil); add Kéfir, set IP to Yogurt mode at 12h.
Oven
- Pão de Queijo: pre-heat at 200C on conventional mode, tray in the middle (3rd level), bake for 20min. Switch to broiler at 200C, place tray on 5th level, right below broiler, for 5min.
- Sweet potatoes: dice potatoes; pre-heat oven on conventional mode, tray in the middle, bake for 30min at 200C (or 40min at 180C, 20min at 220C)
