July 2026: Summer vacations

This month my husband got vacations from work and I decided to take a proper break too and enjoy summer with him, fully! We traveled, met friends, went to the beach, drank a loooot of wine, and enjoyed our pool – this year the water temperature in the pool was divine, very similar to Brazil's northeast!
Highlights
- 🫠 I thought 37°C was hot, but that's because I hadn't yet experienced 42°C with humidity levels above 80%.
- 💉 Started my allergy shots! One injection a month for the next 12 months.
- ⚽️ Brazil lost the world cup, delivering some of the most boring games of my life. But justice was made and Spain won beautifully, fair and square. What a team! It was also a wonderful thing to see the whole world united against Argentina. Husband and I went to Barcelona to watch the final with our friends!
- 🍹 Learned to make VERMUT at home! At the end of the course there was a trivia, and guess who won? YOUR'S TRULY! Brazil may have lost the football cup, but in the Vermut cup, we got the trophy rather than Spain!
- 🍱 Totally obsessed about Japanese food. The obsession actually started two or three months ago, but at this point, I don't even know how to live without my daily dose of miso soup and donburi.
- 🍇 Traveled to Cardona and the Priorat region! Absolutely fantastic. Loved the people, their passion, their tradition. Not to mention the wine is delicious! We will be back many times! Photos and blog post coming soon.
- 🎭 Finished watching my first C-drama, Fated Hearts and honestly… I grieved when it ended! I fell super in love with the story, I even had dreams with the characters and spent my days "singing" the theme song – not knowing a single word of Chinese. I had the hardest time choosing what to watch next because I sincerely felt as if I was betraying my Fated Hearts. I know this is absurd and preposterous, but it is what it is. I am a C-drama fan now.
- 💻 Redesigned my mom's blog. She was feeling unhappy about the old layout, so I took a couple days to play with CSS and now she's a happy mom again! ♥️
- 🛠️ We painted our bedroom. Or rather, my husband did, while I watched Fated Hearts. But I helped out by redoing all the silicone in two of the bathrooms and cleaning the whole bedroom afterwards!
Blog
This month I wrote only 2 posts and shared one dumb photo, and I'm totally fine with that. A lot of people aim to blog every day, consistently, even if they put out pretty mediocre content. Well, not me! I aim to put my mediocre content out there, solely when I feel like it!
Anyhoo, this month I wrote a post about excess photos on one's phone and how to reframe it under a different light and another post on how I rate movies and what I think everybody should take into consideration.

- 🍿 Watched Practical Magic. Meh.
- 🍿 Watched Long Shot. Eh.
- 📺 Watched Widow's Bay! So so good! If you are on the fence because it is "horror", fear not. I'm scared too, but this one is a dark comedy. Any potential scary scenes always come hand-in-hand with a laugh. ♥️
- 🍿 Watched The Odyssey. It is a great movie, I just don't love it somehow.
- ⚽️ Watched a ton of football. Next time will be in 4 years.
