Week 24: The perfect crime
- 🎹 Played 5 days out of 7, for at least 30min a day! Currently working on an étude by Elena Gnyesina. The score suggests "moving" as a tempo and I can play it comfortably at 100bpm. But my teacher seems to be playing at around 200bpm on her demonstration and for a long time now I've struggled with faster pieces. So I'm sticking with this one for another week, and I will bring this up to tempo! I also started working on Heroes of the Galaxy by Christine Donkin.
- 🎼 Inspired by my renewed commitment to the piano, I have tracked down my old piano progress blog on the wayback machine and imported all the posts into PureBlog! They are all under the tag /piano and I've also created tags for repertoire levels (so far there's only prep and grade 1, lol).
- ☀️ A heat wave hit us, I think that's the first this year. Earlier this year we had the opposite, weeks and weeks of storms and cold fronts. But anyway, suddenly we went from 20°C and cloudy to 27°C and sunny!
- 😀 Friends came to visit us for a few days. Beers until 5am (twice!), Água de Valencia in town, cheese fondue, Mexican restaurant, tons of vermut, and Playstation VR games!
- 📺 Re-watched the finale of After Life Season 2, so we can start watching Season 3 soon-ish.
- 📺 Still watching Person of Interest (currently in the middle of Season 4).
- 🍅 Luna ate ALL the tomatoes I had left on the counter (allegedly!). A friend was here recently claiming how tomatoes are so much more delicious if left outside the fridge and I fell for it. Even though my tomato plants in the garden have literal fences around to protect them from the monster, I still fell for it and left the tomatoes outside, on the counter, right where she could get them. And suddenly they were not there anymore. I don't have any proof it was her, but it has to be. She ate almost 1kg of tomatoes (500g cherry tomatoes and 4 or 5 tomate pera). Once again, a perfect crime1 with no evidence, not even a fart afterwards.

-
Every single tomato I've ever planted before the fences were installed, disappeared before I could harvest them. Same with the strawberries, I spent a year waiting for them, and then there were none. Also an entire box of butter cookies I gave to my MIL on her birthday, POOF! And about half a kilo of raw rice, mysteriously gone! I found some rice grains around the living room sofa, but nothing conclusive. The hardened criminal stole and ate 1.5kgs of meat entraña for BBQ right under our noses, and no one saw a thing... My 18h slow rise rye bread was left for a minute on the counter while I turned on the oven, and it magically disappeared. Coincidentally, on this very day, the dog showed up with an enormous round belly. After a vet visit we even nicknamed her Balloona. Again, we don't have any proof. The crimes happen really fast and there's never a breadcrumb left, no pawprints, nothing to connect her to the crime scene. It's all circumstantial. ↩
