Week 3: Dust off my cameras
This week I decided to take my cameras out of storage and put them to work.
- The visit to Galactica last week was so inspiring, we decided to go back to Aras de Los Olmos to photograph the stars and the Milky Way. I posted a few images here! 🪐✨🚀 Those were shot with two Canon 5D Mark IIIs and the widest lenses I had, a 24-70L and a 35 f/2. Will look into getting an ultra wide (maybe the cheap Rokinon 14mm everybody seems to recommend). 📷
- 🍿 Watched Fantastic Four in the cinema. Expectations were high, with some people claiming it was the best Marvel movie ever. It's a feel-good movie, the 1960s vibe was great, the superheroes were all about friends and family, sure to be a hit with everybody including grandma. It's all very correct and appropriate, and I feel it's missing some "punch".
- 🍿 Watched Thunderbolts* at home. Liked more than Fantastic Four. I think I like my heroes to be a bit broken.
- Did a short day-trip to Albarracín, one of Spain's most beautiful pueblos. We spent 3 hours walking around and photographing and exclaiming oooh and aaah at every corner. 🏰🌳 For this trip I took my Fuji XE4 with the 27mm pancake lens and shot in raw + jpeg, but was so pleased with the jpegs, that I didn't even bother editing the raws. 📷 It feels like shooting film: choosing a film stock, loading the camera, taking to the minilab and bringing the photos home. Yes yes, I know professional photographers were hours dodging and burning in the darkroom, but normal people were 100% using the nearest minilab.
