I just started working on Kabalevsky's "24 Pieces for Children", Op. 39. This is the very first piece in the album.

Dmitry Kabalevsky (1904 — 1987) was a Russian/Soviet pianist and one of the most prolific composers of his time. Wikipedia has an extensive biography: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmitry_Kabalevsky

In terms of sheet music, there are quite a few editions of Opus 39 in Amazon to choose from.
