Kabalevsky's Op. 39 No. 2 "A Little Polka"

A little polka from Kabalevsky's "24 Pieces for Children", Op. 39. I've seen this book recommended everywhere and I finally decided to get a copy of it. Even though most pieces are beyond my reach at the moment (I'm prep level and the pieces range from prep to grade 3), after listening to the entire album, I can say I am in love! 😍 Some of the more advanced pieces are so good!

While we wait for me to get there, here's my humble contribution as an adult beginner:

Dmitry Kabalevsky (1904 — 1987) was a Russian/Soviet pianist and one of the most prolific composers of his time. Wikipedia has an extensive biography: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dmitry_Kabalevsky

In terms of sheet music, there are quite a few editions of Opus 39 in Amazon to choose from.

Maira Martins

Hi, I'm Maira and this is my attempt at old-fashioned personal blogging in the era of social media overload. I'm a day trader, programmer and photographer currently based in Valencia, Spain, and the last thing I want to talk about is work.

My little corner on the internet is all about photography, travels, learning piano, gardening, baking... The kind of personal stuff I'd share with my mom on social media, but without the ads.
